My all-time favorite summer herb. Believed to have originated in India, this herb has spread beyond it's homeland and has been cultivated for over 5,000 years. In Egypt, basil was commonly used in the embalming process and has been found in many tombs + burial sites.
Basil hates to be wet. You are more than welcome to rinse it right before use but generally this herb is best left alone until you need it.
Varieties/types we grow
Basil is grown throughout the season, dying off with the first frost.
